Parking Wars

The hubs and I LOOOOOVE to joke and talk about people who can't park.

I mean, LOVE it. We will sit there and blab and blab about people taking up two spaces, parked over the line, not in far enough, those who take 100 points to parallel park.

You catch my drift.

We even love this site where you can give out tickets to people who are bad parkers.

Yea, well, about that....

Look what I came back to after Little Gym today...

Oops.

Saturday Morning Scene

Saturday Morning Scene

This morning I'm linking up with Loves of Life for Saturday Morning Scene! You should head over and link up too!

I'm spending this Saturday morning hanging out with this crazy one-handed bottle holder and his daddy. Nothing too exciting going on this morning! Trey's taking a nap, Mr. Beach Bum is studying and I'm about to do some laundry and dishes! Fun times, no? :)

I'm oddly really hoping for a little bit of rain to come our way this afternoon. Mama cannot handle this pollen! There isn't enough Claritin, Zyrtec, Allegra, etc.. in the world for me lately!

I hope you all have a wonderful Saturday morning and weekend!!

Review: Yummy Spoonfuls Organic Baby Food

I was recently contacted by Yummy Spoonfuls on Twitter and asked to review a few of their products. I of course, jumped at the chance as we love to have fun with food around this house. Just take a look at my kitchen floor in the evenings...

I Trey was promptly sent a large box with dry ice full of some new foods to try out!

From the Yummy Spoonfuls site:
“Yummy Spoonfuls Baby Food is 100 % USDA Certified Organic, made from naturally good ingredients grown without chemical pesticides, nitrates, growth hormones or other unwanted extras and produced without artificial additives or processing chemicals. Our foods are not heat-treated like ALL OTHER commercial baby foods (including organic), so ours come packed full of nutrients.”

We decided to try the Organic Blueberry and Banana Cereal first.

It looked kind of funny at first but as it defrosted - the texture became super smooth. It smelled and tasted (We taste all of Trey's foods first) delicious!

Not so sure...

Hmmmm....

MORE PLEASE!!

Trey has really enjoyed testing these out. We had the organic pears this morning for breakfast and the texture is like no other pre-made baby food. It's creamy and smooth and almost a little frothy. The taste is great and I really like variety of foods they offer!!

You can purchase Yummy Spoonfuls Organic Baby Food at a variety of local stores and on Amazon!

You can also follow Yummy Spoonfuls on Twitter & Facebook!

8 Months

This has been a big month for my sweet little Trey-bug! Between crawling and talking more he is always "on the go"! It's been so much fun to see this little sponge soak up learning and different daily activities.

He's starting to remember Little Gym and starts laughing and kicking when we walk in the door. He is also really starting to show us how awesome story time is by getting excited about books and being able to turn the pages for us. One of the first things he crawled to was a book and basically gave me a look like "are you going to read this to me or what?". It cracked me up!

Sadly this month also had his first fall and a second bout of teething. But we got through the fall ok and fingers crossed the teething pain subsides sooner rather than later.

I can't believe how much he is turning into a little person with such a huge personality. He is really showing us his likes and dislikes and all around just having fun. I feel like this is such a wonderful age and so (dare I say it?) easy at times.

Trey's 8 Month Stats

Bedtime: between 8pm and 9pm

Wake-Up: anytime between 8am and 9am

Naps: Around 2 per day. Usually one at 10am and hopefully another between 2 and 4pm. All of these are in his crib as he has decided he hates to nap anywhere else. He will fall asleep in the car on occasion but has been waking up when we get to our destination.

Bottles: Trey has four 7-8 oz bottles each day, one when he wakes up - two in the middle and one right before bed

Foods: He is now having food and a sippy 3 times a day. He loves Bananas, Sweet Potatoes, Apples, Pears, Carrots, Pumpkin, Spinach, Peas, Apricots, Peaches, Winter Squash, Blueberries

Developmental Milestones & Firsts: CRAWLING!! Pulling himself up on people, toys, furniture and his crib. Turning the pages in his books when we say "page" or "turn the page". Licking his lips and giving "five". Holding his own bottle consistently, I can't remember the last time I held one for him (sad face). Top right tooth starting to break through and it looks as though the left one is also on it's way. Talking more, saying "ma, ma, ma, ma" lots & lots (still working on Da-da). Yes, it's been a big month around here!

Favorite Toys: Sophie (she will be on this list forever), regular bouncy balls (to pass with our hands and play "soccer", The Twilight Turtle, Skwish ball, Scout, Walk and Ride

Favorite Songs: The Itsy Bitsy Spider, The Little Gym Song - Bugs, B-I-N-G-O (we have our own version about a "T-R-E-Y-bug", Grand Ole Duke of York, Tony Chestnut

Mommy Books: What to Expect the First Year by Arlene Eisenberg, And lately I have been reading a lot of Magazines (Parents, Parenting: The Early Years)

April Goals

Wow. I'm so late on these. Time is going by at the speed of light lately, please make it slow down.

1. Work on my new blog 100 Days to 30 - this is a temporary little "extra" blog that I am starting. It's a countdown to my 30th birthday and is really something I am just using as a journal and a bit of accountability as I try every last ditch effort to get healthier and feel better about my appearance before the big 3-0! I'll start posting there today as it is now officially 100 days away!

2. Work on a good summer wardrobe. I need some new things like whoa. I refuse to spend all summer playing with Trey in nike workout shorts or yoga capris. I need to get some cute new bermuda shorts from J Crew and some easy cotton tank tops and shirts to go with them.

3. Finally get my closet organized.

4. Learn how to use Aperture. I got this for my MacBook a few weeks ago and feel like the dumbest person on earth. Does anyone know of any good resources for this?

I'm going to go ahead and leave this as is. Especially considering since today is the 11th. I'm pretty sure this will give me plenty to do!!

How is everyone else's goals coming along?
