Today

Today we didn't leave the house

We didn't turn on the TV

We didn't turn on the radio

We didn't have bath time

Today I didn't make any fancy foods

We didn't change out of our jammies until 2pm

We didn't clean up

We didn't do laundry

Today we played

We read books

We sang songs

We did back whoop de do's

Today we laughed

We snuggled together

We laid on the floor surrounded by stuffed animals

We napped on the sofa

Today was a day where we did "nothing"

And I never want to forget days like today.

Hair Lust

I got a few emails and comments asking about my new haircut.... um... she cut about 1/2 an inch off and I was on my way. Seriously, it looks EXACTLY the same. Just healthier!

I showed my stylist what my long term "hair goal" is ~

Can you blame me? I just want to be her!!

My stylist suggested that I come in every 6 weeks for a dry trim off the bottom, to keep taking my prenatals and to really "baby" my hair.

Right now I am using the following products:

I'm only washing and using hot tools every other day and I'm not using any hairspray at all (it seemed to really dry my hair out). But I'm wondering if there is anything else I can do to speed this process up and keep it shiny & healthy!

My hair is no where near as thick as Kyle's but I'm hoping that I can come close to her look!
Any product or supplement suggestions?

The New Nap Nanny?

Friday night we had the besties and J's mom and dad over for dinner. J's precious daughter A (Trey's girlfriend!) who is 5 months loves to bounce so they put her in Trey's jumperoo. All of a sudden we didn't hear any noise (it makes sounds when the babies jump) and this is what we found....

Isn't she sweet!?!?!

I was in awe.. Trey NEVER falls asleep like that. I commented that I wish he would because sometimes he gets himself over-tired and once that happens it's hard to get him to nap well.

Until yesterday afternoon when I looked over to find this...

Good job A! I like the things you are teaching my son!

Saturday Morning Scene

Saturday Morning Scene

Today I'm linking up with Katie over at Loves of Life for Saturday Morning Scene.

We headed to Starbucks with our friends this morning. I spent some time playing with the Hipstamatic app and Trey took a nice cozy nap!

7 Months

I know that I sound like a broken record but it's just going by so fast!! I try my hardest to take mental snapshots every single day and live in the moment but the next thing I know I'm writing another monthly post!!

I will say that this month has been so much fun! Trey is at such a wonderful age right now where we are on a good schedule, I can (usually) figure out quickly what he wants and needs and is usually very predictable. This makes for lots of excitement and fun! I know what I can squeeze in before the next nap time, how much he needs to eat before little gym (but not too much), how to push his morning nap so that we can make it through story time.

It was so exciting when Trey's teeth showed up this month and I thought for sure he'd be full on crawling around the house by now - but I am not complaining! I know it could be tomorrow or it could be another 3 weeks or more! I'm savoring the peace of a house with lots of stairs and a non-crawler right now.

We've had a little bit of "I want Mama" going on this month - nothing too serious but you can tell how attached he is to me. And obviously that feeling is quite mutual!

Trey had two beach trips since my last monthly post and he loved every minute of each of them (except when he fell face first into the sand and I had a delayed reaction... we won't mention that part...) I have a feeling we will be spending lots of time in the sand this summer! I'm so thrilled to have my very own mini beach bum!

Trey's 7 Month Stats

Bedtime: between 8pm and 9pm

Wake-Up: anytime between 8am and 9:30 am

Naps: I'm happy to report that we are getting on somewhat of a better nap schedule. He usually has one around 10am, another decent one at 2 or 3pm and then usually a cat nap around 5:30

Bottles: Trey has four 7-8 oz bottles each day, one when he wakes up - two in the middle and one right before bed

Foods: Bananas, Sweet Potatoes, Apples, Pears, Carrots, Pumpkin, Spinach, Peas, Apricots (not a fan, he would eat them but he made the most horrible face), Peaches, Winter Squash, blueberries

Developmental Milestones & Firsts: Getting his first too teeth!!! Starting to feed himself and getting better at holding his bottle. He likes to move from rocking on all fours to sitting up. Still not 100% crawling but getting there - lots of up on all fours rocking, moving, annnnd face plant. He can crawl backwards quite well though - it's unintentional so it almost always ends in tears. He is also starting to babble a little more intentional - like he's "talking". It's not real words or anything - you can just tell he has a lot on his mind sometimes!

All he wants to do is play!! :)

Favorite Toys: Sophie (she will be on this list forever), regular bouncy balls, The Twilight Turtle (we use this soley as a toy now, when he was little(r) we used it to put him to sleep) Skwish ball, Scout

Favorite Books: Little Crab by Image Books (OBSESSED with this book! I plan on getting a few more) Five Little Monkeys by Eileen Christelow (Trey's first library book!)

Favorite Songs: The Itsy Bitsy Spider, The Little Gym Song - Bugs, B-I-N-G-O (we have our own version about a "T-R-E-Y-bug"

Mommy Books: What to Expect the First Year by Arlene Eisenberg, My Two Year Old Eats Octopus by Nancy Tringali Piho (Still reading both of these) And Mini Shopaholic by Sophie Kinsella (as a fun read!)

Guest Post: Naptime Is the New Happy Hour-Jewel Kade

Hello, I am Cheryl over at "Naptime Is the New Happy Hour". I normally talk about my sweet Little C, baby products, reviews, and all things baby related with a bit of fashion for mommies.  So stop on by and visit for some fun.  However, today I am talking about my new venture in Jewel Kade!

I am not the type of girl who normally goes to jewelry parties or Mary Kay/Avon events. But I decided to go to a jewelry party recently that was in my neighborhood. I wasn't expecting to buy anything only to browse. Until I actually laid my eyes on the jewelery. It was gorgeous and so different then all the other jewelery out there and I love me some jewelery.

The stylist at the party was sweet as can be and was telling me all about JK and how she got paid to do these fun parties. I thought to myself, what a great way to get out of the house for a little bit and make some extra money doing something I like. Plus it would help to pay for all those diapers, toys, clothes, formula, good, etc. (and help me save up for that LV Neverfull bag :) ) So after much consideration I decided to join the JK team and I love it!

Here are some of my favorite pieces

These are some gorgeous charms to go on a bracelet or necklace.
The photo charms.
What a great way to display your favorite pictures of your children.
Plus, it will always be close to your heart :)
Look how fab the necklaces are too!
I actually bought 2 of these at the party. One for me of course and another as a gift for my mother in law for Mother's Day. These make great gifts.

More gorgeous charms.

The photo fan charms.
Now these rock! What a great idea for sports moms. You can have your son or daugheter's team logo on one side and on the other you can have a picture of them. So cool!

All of the necklaces and bracelets are gorgeous too.

If you aren't interested in selling but interested in the jewelery please go visit...
Remember Mother's Day and Easter is coming up and these would make great gifts.

Please feel free to email me at naptimeisthenewhappyhour@yahoo.com with any questions you may have.

If you sign up to be a stylist by March 13th you will get a free charm to add to your kit.
