Target Tuesday: Getting Paid to buy Formula

I'm linking up for the first time ever this week with Tara over at
Fabulous But Evil for Target Tuesdays!! I'm excited to be a new follower of Tara's and to check out what everyone else is getting at Target this week!

I'm sure I'll be back to posting about shoes, beach fun and cute baby things next week. But this week it's all about some necessities!

And yes, you read the title correctly. Target paid me $17.10 to take those bottles of Similac out of their store. No, this isn't some crazy episode of Extreme Couponing or Hoarders (15 bottles hardly counts as hoarding when you are formula feeding an 8 month old). Rather, just a mom who is trying to stretch her dollars where she can.

Here is how I did it:

15 Bottles of Similac Sensitive: On Sale for $3.86 each = $57.90
I used 15 $5 off Any Similac coupons found in the 4/3 Smart Source Insert* = -$75.00
All for a grand total of: -$17.10

*My local paper didn't have these coupons - they must have been regional. No fret - I ordered some at my favorite coupon clipping site: Coupons By Dede.

Now, Target doesn't give cash back on overage (Wal-mart does, but that place gives me hives. I hate going to Wal-mart!) so I used the extra towards some California Baby body wash, sunscreen and sunscreen stick! (Which are all on sale this week!)

I read a few articles last year on babies (anyone, really) and the harmful chemicals in sunscreen and want to make sure that I'm using something that isn't harmful to Trey. You can read more about this here.

The method dish soap was on sale for: $2.49
I used a $0.50 Target Printable (you can *stack* aka combine these with manufacturer coupons) that I combined with a $0.75 peelie that was on the Method products for a grand total of $1.24 for dish soap! I'm very particular about our dish soaps now that we have Trey and we wash all of his things and so far I have been very happy with all of Method's kitchen & bath products!

Hope y'all are having a wonderful Target Tuesday! Can't wait to take a peek at what everyone else is picking up or lusting after this week!!

Great job! For some reason, Target doesn't let my computer print their coupons so I haven't tried them yet.

Does Wal-Mart really give you the cash back? I may start extreme couponing if so - ha!
