iPhoto Friday

The beginning of the week here was HOT HOT HOT. Trey and I spent some QT in the 100 acre forrest reading and playing.

Then we got lucky and had a few cool days - we drove out to the woods and "went on a bear hunt". (The ONLY other song Trey is interested in besides that gosh-darn "Wheels on the bus")
I snagged this adorable all-wood toddler table on Craigs List last week. The lady wasn't an ax murderer and Trey loves the table. Win-win.

It's served as a much more appropriate place to play with "pea-dough" than the kitchen table in his booster.

I'm neck deep into 2nd birthday party planning and crafting - only about a month left!
Key to a ridiculously happy toddler at school pick up? A smoothie!
Or as Trey calls them "moootheees" (J.D. kept thinking he as asking for a movie! Ha!)

And I wanted to share this from one of our Father's Day crafts. JD is obsessed with collecting records and all things music related so the sweet SIL came over and helped me do a little photo shoot.

Here is the finished project. Yep. He loved it
Happy Friday Y'all!!!

Commenting Challenge: Days 2 & 3

Day 2: Tell us about your blog. What do you blog about? Why do you blog? How did you start blogging? What kinds of things do you/are you willing to share with the world? Where do you find your topi inspiration? (Hint: Don't share about your social media just yet!)

I started blogging back in 2008 with a blog named: Lis Loves. I started it after months of stalking All Things G&D (still one of my most favorite blogs to date). One day I was sitting at my desk and thought, hmm I could do this too. And so it began.

I was newly-ish married without kids. So I blogged about shopping, beauty products, my dogs, food, traveling.

And then when I became pregnant with Trey I switched over to my current blog. It felt like "Lis Loves" was a season and BB&B is who I am today. A mama.

I'll be honest. I have found it extremely hard to sit down and blog on a consistent basis. I don't do it while Trey is awake. Nap time is usually reserved for cleaning or a project of sorts. And after Trey goes to bed it's time with the hubs, to go meet up with friends or I'm just plain exhausted from....well, life.

But really, those *reasons* are just excuses. Are they true? Yes.

But regardless, I need to make time for blogging. For me.

I want to document this time in my life. I want to connect more with other bloggers. I have all of these thoughts in my head and I want to "write" them down somewhere.

I've started keeping a small list in my planner and I want to put topics and inspiration I come across down on paper in hopes of them translating to the computer.

Blogging has been an amazing experience for me. Some of my real life best friends are because of it.

I have supported others and been supported. I have taught others and learned from SO many. I have grown as a person and as a mom. And watched others do the same. And you know what else? I've had fun. Emailing, commenting, or laughing all night at one of our local blogger meet ups.

It's been an awesome ride. And I'm not ready to get off.

And that is why I blog.

Day3: Our topic today is two-fold:

Tell us about your social media! Where can we find you? Link to your twitter, pinterest, Facebook, instagram, or google +. If you don't use those sites, then tell us why not!

Also, what are your favorite websites? Are there any that you check daily? What do you like about them?

Oh gosh. What a fun opening question.

Favorite thing ever? Pinterest. (Well, not more than coffee. But oddly close.)

You can find my boardshere.

I think so often WHY WASN'T THIS AROUND WHEN I WAS GETTING MARRIED!?!? Or heck even planning Trey's nursery!

But guess what? Now it is! And there is no turning back!!

These may sum up my problem...

As far as favorite websites I'd have to say:

Hip2Save - one of my favorite deal sites. Her tagline is: Not Your Grandma's Coupon Site. It's well organized and easy to skim through to find things that I might be interested in.

Totally Target - another deal site but lots of Target finds. Because yes. I am Target obsessed.

I'm also a huge Plum District fan, they always have awesome deals! I love that they divide it up between mom deals and kids deals!

And last but not least, Amazon. I haven't bought diapers at the store since Trey was first born. It's SO much cheaper to order them, and wipes, and overnight diapers, and pail refill bags, and anything else you can name. Subscribe and save rocks my world. I did a post on awesome deals via Amazon a while ago.

Thanks so much to everyone who has stopped by from the challenge! I have enjoyed reading and commenting on all sorts of new blogs!! Thanks again Jenna for hosting!!! It's not too late to link up

Jenna's Journey: 3rd Annual Commenting Challenge

One of my favorite-est blog friends ever, Jenna does an annual commenting challenge and I'm linking up for the fun!

Todays Topic:

Tell us about YOU! What's your name? Where do you live? Who lives with you? Do you work outside the home? Have kids? Pets? (Psst! Don't spill the beans about your blog or hobbies
quite yet!).

Hi y'all! My name is Lis and I'm a 30 year old mama, wife and beach-bum!

I married my best friend and high school sweet heart, J.D. on July 22, 2006.

We have two fur babies, both rescue dogs, Zoe and Lulu that we adopted in 2005 and 2008.

And on August 4, 2010 we welcomed our sweet baby boy, Trey to the world.

I am a SAHM and love every.single.moment of it.

(Yep. Even the hard times! I truly wouldn't want it any other way!)

I can't to go through Jenna's link up list and find some new, awesome blogs to read!

It's not to late to start linking up either! Each morning Jenna will post a new topic over here!!

Saturday Morning Scene

Back in the day, on Saturdays we would link up with Loves of Life for a little Saturday morning scene action. I loved floating around and seeing what everyone was up to for the weekend so I decided to post a quick little SMS from the Beach Bum household.

I enjoyed my coffee with these two handsome guys this morning.

Then I went off to get a pedi & shellac manicure (totally shellac-obsessed!)
I had such a hard time choosing a color but knew once I saw this "Minnie-Cure" ad I had to go with "I'm All Ears" (We're planning a trip to Disney this winter!!! Woo!!)

The guys went and had some park and "IIIII-CREAM!!" time. Kid is obsessed.
Apparently it's MY fault.
What does your Saturday morning scene look like?

iPhoto Friday

Happy Friday y'all!!!

Lookie, my little 'ol blog got a makeover and I am loving it!!!

I know, I haven't blogged in 1,292 years. I have to say since the last time I sat down at this computer to write I have had some life changing moments. The highest of highs and sadly the lowest of lows. Things are on the up and up and I have to be honest. My whole outlook on life has changed. In a good way.

I plan on sharing everything that has been going on here but for today I'm going to keep it light and fun with a little iPhoto Friday about what has been going on in our small little part of the world.

We are oh-so sticker obsessed around here. This was on a 10 minute car trip. At least he proceeded to count them?

JD and I went to a beautiful wedding down at the beach a few weeks ago.

Pizza night with my loves

We've been spending as much time at the beach as possible. (Shocker, I know.)

And trying out some new parks.

A new book from Grammie about "nuwm-burs"
New M&D stamps. No explanation needed.

We've been talking some walks up to Starbucks. Yes, we still love the Alex smart trike!

Haircut #3 was performed yesterday. I'm not loving just how short it is but I know it'll grow back fast!

I hope everyone is having an awesome first few days of summer!! I can't wait to catch up on everyone's posts!!
