iPhone Randoms

This sweet little guy turned 6 months yesterday! It's all happening too fast. I cried twice.

They are going to have to admit me when he starts school.

We're having a little family get together next weekend to celebrate Trey's 6 month *birthday* and I love these plates & napkins. JD & I are big Paul Frank fans.

Also need to go back and get this top for next year. JDs really into music - I think he will love it!

Worked out - outside - yesterday morning. I had Tret wrapped up all Eskimo-like!

We're ready for the Super Bowl! We're headed to a party at JDs uncle's house (um yea. Because he has a literal movie theater IN his home) I die. And I got suckered into making my famous buffalo chicken dip. I'll be sure to take a pic so I can share the recipe with y'all!

Trey and I spend most of our days in our jammies. Playing on the floor. And I love it so much more than I ever knew I could.

And shoes. So cute. SUCH a pain! I put them back on no less than 100x this day!!

And last but not least. I love having goals for this month. They are really motivating me and I feel great about it!!

My Guilty Pleasures

I saw this post on Craving the Cupcakes today and knew that it had to be the subject for my next blog post!

I don't have a lot of them, but the ones that I do, I like to indulge in quite frequently.

1. Starbucks Grande Hazelnut Iced Coffee
I could live off of this stuff. No lie. Every single Saturday and Sunday JD, Trey and I meet our BFFs and their baby at Starbucks. We spend hours there just catching up and talking. We joke that we should move in. All of the Barista's know us, know the babies and what we like to eat and drink. We joke that we should start going to different ones so that no one recognizes us. Um yea... you know you have a problem when...

2. Pedicures
I know I could do it myself and save the $26 plus tip but there is just something SO wonderful about going to get a pedicure. I have this lady I like to go to, she has all the great new OPI colors and she talks just the right amount. See, I like to go to the nail place alone. A few of my blog friends have gone with me and we have had a great time but other than that I don't really like to go with anyone else. I used to go with my sister and cousin a lot but it just never ended up being as relaxing as when I went alone. Am I awful?
Sadly it's been since before Thanksgiving that I had my last one and I have a gift card burning a hole in my pocket. I need to get my fix!

3. Naps
I LOVE naps. LOVE THEM! I never wake up groggy, just refreshed and happy. I never got in the hang of that "sleep when the baby sleeps" thing when Trey was first born, I just couldn't relax, I was constantly checking on him. Luckily for me I think him and I have made up for lost time recently.

4. Frozen Yogurt
I could go every day. And I'm not big into all of the toppings - I just like the plain 'ol yogurt by itself.

5. Cupcakes
(And I wonder why I'm having a hard time with the baby weight...) No explanation needed.

6. Magazines
Before Trey was born I probably read about 10 magazines a week. I had oodles of subscriptions. And while lately I'm happy to get through an issue of Parents, I'm not going to let Marie Claire expire - because that pile on my nightstand WILL get read at some point.

7. Pizza Night and Mexican Night
Growing up, every Friday was Pizza night in our house and I usually got to pick (Papa Johns was my favorite). These days our Friday nights are usually spent at a local Mexican restaurant. We love it! (We go with the same friends as Starbucks, yes, we're basically one big happy family! Ha!) And also like Starbucks they all know us there! It's funny - but it's one of those things we just have to include in our budget because we love it so much. I still try to sneak in a pizza night here and there, JD doesn't love it as much as I do. These days we are obsessed with Dominos. Clearly their new marketing works. We're suckers.

New Beauty Product Loves (An Actual Non-Baby Post)

Look at me! Posting about something other than Trey - crazy right?

Back in December I got a Beauty.com gift card on Rue La La (if you're not already a member you should definitely sign up - they have been having some great deals lately) and I was excited to immediately use it.

One of my awesome purchases was Bliss High Intensity Hand Cream. I LOVE this stuff. Between winter and washing my hands a million times a day my skin suffers, badly. I cannot get over how great this moisturizes and like everything I've tried from Bliss - it smells delish!

In my Beauty.com order they sent me a sample for the new Fekkai line - Essential Shea. I've been a long time Fekkai Glossing fan but this takes it to the next level. My hair has NEVER felt so healthy and smooth before. I do think it's a little pricey so I'm on a hunt for a good deal on it!

I was previously using a Bare Minerals bronzer and they discontinued the color. Don't you hate it when that happens?! So I found myself at the mercy of one of the nice Sephora ladies at the mall and she suggested Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Matte Bronzing Powder. I was pretty turned off at first because it has a really weird chocolate smell. But after getting used to it I really started to love the nice bronze and non-shiny color that it gives me. Especially in the dull weeks of winter!

How many days until Summer?

February Goals

I've noticed quite a few of my favorite bloggers (such as Ashley's Antics & Elefantitas Alegres) posting their goals for the month and I thought I would join in. I'm not big on resolutions but I feel like I do need goals and lists to stay on track these days.

February Goals

1. Try out Stroller Strides & Little Gym with Trey
I bought a bundle pack for Stroller Strides on one of those "daily deal" sites back in November and I have yet to go try it out. Each week I have had great intentions. Each week something has came up and I haven't made it a priority. My blog friend, AP from I Love You More Than Carrots and her son Carter really love going and it seems like something Trey and I would really enjoy too.
I have heard mixed reviews on Little Gym so I have decided just to plan and go to the free class and see if it's something that is worth the money for Trey and I. From what I hear, it's pretty expensive and the Beach Bum household is on a much tighter budget these days. Hopefully if we love it I can find some sort of deal.

2. Lose 8 more lbs.
I have had the hardest time losing all of this baby weight. And there isn't any excuse, I just have. I lost a bunch the first few weeks after Trey was born and then it stalled. I joined Weight Watchers, loved it, and then Thanksgiving came, I gained, the new point system came, I felt like I couldn't get a grasp on it. And then the problems with my mom started up (if you follow me on Twitter, you know what I am referring to). And I just let it all fall apart.
So the first week of January I cancelled my membership. Right? Who cancels their WW membership at the beginning of the year? Isn't that when everyone joins?
But you know what - I'm down 7 lbs since then!!! I'm 3 away from my pre-pregnancy weight and 30 from where I'd like to be. I'm hoping that posting this will help keep me motivated! How many days till Summer?

3. Blog More
I really want to start blogging more regularly and posting comments on every one's blogs. I read them every single day on my iPhone but I rarely comment. I'm hoping to change this.

4. Get More Organized & Get on a Regular Cleaning Routine
I'm going to leave this one kind of open-ended and hopefully I will have some great projects to share with you.

5. Learn how to be more efficient at couponing and stocking up
I'm so bad about running out of things and not planning ahead. I would like to only grocery shop once a month, besides fresh items each week but I know that goal is way to big for me right now. So I'm starting small. I have all the diapers and wipes I can handle thanks to deal sites, Amazon Moms and Diapers.com and I hope to start stocking up on all household items such as paper towels, toilet paper, etc. I'll share some of these deals as I find them with you.

I'm excited to start working on these and I really hope I have some great things to report back to you at the end of the month!

What kind of goals are you setting for yourself?

Struggle

Before we had Trey we had such a clean house. Closets were organized. Dishes were 100% done every night. I literally vacuumed every other day (just ask Whitney).

And now.... I get bottles washed and sterilized, the diaper genie emptied and Trey always has on fresh clean clothes.

But that's about it.

I'm a stay at home mom. Why is it such a struggle to get everything done? What is wrong with me that I can't manage to get a load of towels & dishes done while Trey naps? He's playing great in his exersaucer - why am I not taking that time to dust baseboards?

Why?

I don't know.

My dear friend J was over last Saturday and while she seemed happy to know that I'm a normal mom and my house ends up crazy. I think she was also shocked to see the state of my kitchen.

The funny thing? My normal control-freak, perfectionist-self didn't care. Not.one.bit. And it's not because she's my BFF, it could have been someone I barely know and I would have felt the same way.

For one of the first times in my life, I'm ok with being "real".

Because at the end of the day I know one thing... I don't struggle with wondering if I spend enough time snuggling, playing with, kissing, hugging, and just all around loving this little guy.
