Things That Go Bump In the Night

Last night before JD and I went upstairs to go to bed I checked in on Trey on the video monitor.

This is what I found....

Mind you, he was dead asleep like this!!! (Yes, he sleeps on his belly - he started doing it once he could break out of his swaddle and turning him back over never worked) And who knows how long he had been like that because he hadn't made a peep on the monitor.

JD had to go in, wake him up and move him!

You see this bumper in his Nursery pictures:

I took it out when Trey was about 5 weeks old. He was already rocking and rolling around at night.

So what do I do? Not worry about it? because he was ok... and I'm sure he would have let out a cry once he realized. Or should I order a breathable bumper to prevent this from happening again? Do they even work?

Since he's only 7 months, I still don't feel comfortable putting the other bumper back in. I'll probably never use it again.

Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions!

I bought a breathable bumper a few days after that started happening with us. But my little guy ould wake up, realize he was stuck and let us know about it. They are honestly the best thing ever. He hasn't been able to move them at all because they stretch tight around the crib. Plus there's no worrying about suffocation. 30 bucks at BRU...I highly recommend em!

We have our original bumper on but we have a movement monitor. Connor sleeps with three blankets and three stuffed animals so we break all the rules!

Aw, wish I had a suggestion, but I don't...I don't have any babies just yet! :( Hope you find what you need soon!

We just got breathable bumpers for my son's room (also 7 months old). We love ours!

We are rule breakers in my house and use the regular bumpers...have since day 1. I know, mom fail. I often find him sideways in the bed now so at least it's cushioning his little noggin.

If I were you and didn't feel comfortable with the original ones, get the breathable ones. He won't be able to get his arms and legs through, but you won't have to have any sleepless nights worrying about hime!

Oh my goodness what a little wiggle worm. I dont have any suggestions for you but I dont have our bumpers on either. Little C doesnt wiggle in the night though, so its not a problem for us.

That is a cute pic! You know Peebs doesnt move AT ALL in his bed so I have never taken out his bumper! Happy Holders is having this same issue though and she did do a breathable bumper!

I tried to remove bumpers and then my son wouldn't sleep anymore so back on they went!

Have you ever used sleep sacks? I found that H was less likely to put his legs through/get stuck when wearing one (harder to fit 2 legs into one slot)

Otherwise I would try the breathable bumpers
