Shakeology Q&A

Thanks so much for all of the emails, tweets and comments on my Shakeology post!

First thing, I'm so sorry the links weren't working! Shame on me! I was rushing to dinner and didn't even check. They are fixed and you can also get to the Shakeology site here.

Q: Do the shakes replace a meal?

Yes, I am using them as a meal replacement. Usually lunch. (But you can do any! You can even do a cleanse where you have it for breakfast & lunch and then a super healthy dinner to jump start weight loss!)

Q: What else are you doing with the shakes?

I am working out (and was before Shakeology with not even close to these results). And I'm trying my hardest to keep up with Trey, he is such a ball of energy now and I also just joined a gym. I have been trying out classes and so far, so good. I definitely think it's a positive cycle.

Shakeology has meant more immediate energy - which I use to work out - which results in long term energy. It's been a really great cycle for me. I was feeling very sluggish and just kind of unmotivated before.

I don't think that these shakes are a "too good to be true". I'm using them as a tool in my weight loss journey. They keep me motivated and full of energy, which has had a positive effect on my appetite and I don't find myself reaching for unhealthy snacks at 3pm!

Everyone is different, these just work for me, and I'm really happy with that!

Q: Is this something for long term or short term use?

Long term, without a doubt. The quick weight loss that I have been experiencing will eventually slow down. As soon as I get down to where I'd like to be (weight-wise) I will still keep up with the shakes, only because like I said, I'm pretty bad about making sure I get all of my vitamins and veggies in. A lot of people use it solely for vitamins and energy, not necessarily for weight loss.

Q: Do I need a vitamix or magic bullet to make the shakes?

You don't need one - I know a few people that just shake them up and go but I prefer mine in my magic bullet - it's a smoothie consistency when I make it. I personally, like it best that way. One of my friends who also does Shakeology got a cheapy one at Kohls and she said it works great!

Q: Is their an exercise program?

Yes! They have a shakeology workout program, (which comes free with your Shakeology order) the same company makes P90-X, Turbo Jam, Insanity, Hip Hop abs and a plethora of other workout videos. I personally just got the Insanity DVD. I'll let y'all know how it is! If you click on the "order now" button here - you can see all of the fitness programs Beach Body has to offer.

Q: What's a typical day like on Shakeology?

Everyone is different so I can only speak for myself.

Here is how a typical day goes for me:
9am - coffee & healthy breakfast
12ish (depending on Trey, Little Gym, Library, etc) - make a Shakeology with leftover coffee or milk, if making with coffee add in just less than a tsp of peanut butter, if making with unsweetened almond milk add in frozen strawberries and/or bananas.
3-4pm - High protein snack and/or fruit
Walk/Run/Gym/Play with Trey
8ish - put Trey to bed and have a reasonable dinner with the hubs

Here's the deal y'all:

I'm not perfect, I will never claim to be. I'm not claiming that Shakeology is a miracle. What I'm saying is that it has been a great tool for me, and really helped me work on my goals of losing weight and staying energized. It's been a really positive change in my life, and I'm really happy right now! I wrote this post and the one prior because so many of you have asked about it and I wanted to let you know how it was going!

I have been waiting for your Shakology post. Very informative. Great post. You are already one hot mama but you are on your way to a VS model. I am jealous.

I am slowly starting to get back in shape and get this baby weight off but it is a long hard process.
